Brazilian and Underarm Waxing Together: The Appointment Combination That Replaces Two Razors

Two razors sitting in the shower. One for your bikini area, one for your underarms, and somehow both seem to need attention at the least convenient possible time.

For a lot of my regular clients, that routine eventually gets old.

They start with a Brazilian wax because they’re tired of shaving, razor burn, or feeling like they just shaved and already need to do it again. Then, after they’ve settled into waxing and realize how much easier their Brazilian maintenance feels, the next question is usually pretty practical:

“Can I just add my underarms and get both done during the same appointment?”

Yes. Brazilian and underarm waxing together can make a lot of sense, especially for someone who values convenience and would rather maintain two areas during one appointment than keep two separate shaving routines going at home.

That doesn’t mean your underarms and Brazilian area are identical or that every hair on your body suddenly agrees to grow on the exact same schedule. Bodies are rarely that cooperative.

It means there can be a practical way to maintain both without overcomplicating your calendar.

At Gold Rush Esthetics in Denver’s Wash Park neighborhood, the kind of client who tends to love this combination is already pretty familiar to us. She takes care of herself. She values quality. She likes knowing what’s on her calendar instead of remembering at 9 p.m. that she needs to shave before putting on a sleeveless dress tomorrow. She often books her next one or two waxing appointments before leaving because she knows the schedule fills up.

For her, adding underarms isn’t about turning waxing into a complicated beauty regimen. It usually does the opposite.

The Real Appeal: One Appointment Handles Two High-Maintenance Areas

Woman in a black bikini

Brazilian waxing gets most of the attention because, well, it’s a Brazilian! But underarms can quietly be one of the more annoying areas to shave.

They’re visible in tank tops, dresses, workout clothes, swimsuits, and basically all summer in Denver. The hair can also seem to return approximately five minutes after you put the razor down. Even when that’s obviously an exaggeration, it doesn’t always feel like one.

At Gold Rush Esthetics, an underarm wax is pretty straightforward: remove the hair and help make the razor a thing of the past. A Brazilian can remove as much or as little hair as you prefer from the front, labia, and back area for vulva anatomy. Hair or no hair is your choice, and there’s no judgment attached to either decision.

Putting the two services together means you’re maintaining two areas that otherwise commonly involve frequent shaving.

There’s no requirement that you wax every possible body part once you start waxing your Brazilian. Plenty of clients wax one area and shave another.

But I also see the progression happen naturally.

A client gets comfortable with Brazilian waxing. She starts staying more consistent. She gets used to not reaching for the razor in that area. Then she looks at her underarms and thinks, Okay, why am I still dealing with this? Fair question!

Do Brazilian and Underarm Waxing Actually Work on the Same Schedule?

This is where I don’t want to give you a fake little beauty rule that sounds good online but doesn’t match how hair actually behaves.

Your Brazilian hair and underarm hair can in fact grow differently.

Hair growth varies by person and by area of the body. Your previous shaving habits matter. So does whether you’ve already been waxing consistently. One area may seem to grow faster than the other, and you can have multiple stages of hair growth present at the same time.

So no, I’m not going to tell every person in Denver that their underarms and Brazilian will automatically be perfectly synchronized forever after one combination appointment.

What can happen, though, is that you start using your Brazilian appointment as the anchor.

For someone already coming in consistently for a Brazilian, adding underarms to that existing visit can be far easier than creating another appointment to remember. And over time, we can see what your actual growth is doing.

Maybe your underarms fit nicely with your Brazilian schedule. Maybe they need a slightly different approach for a while. Maybe you’re someone who doesn’t care if a small amount of underarm growth appears toward the end of the cycle because you’d rather wait and handle everything at the same visit.

There’s some personal preference here. That’s one reason I like looking at waxing schedules as practical routines rather than rigid rules.

Consistency Still Matters More Than Chasing Every Hair

One mistake clients can make after switching from shaving is expecting waxing to behave exactly like shaving.

With shaving, you remove whatever is visible at the surface whenever it bothers you.

Waxing works differently because we’re removing hair from the root. Hair is also growing in different cycles, which is one reason your first wax does not necessarily represent the results you’ll get after you’ve been consistent for several appointments.

That applies to both Brazilian and underarm waxing.

The first time can feel like the biggest adjustment. Then, when someone continues waxing rather than jumping back and forth between waxing and shaving, the routine usually becomes much easier to manage.

This is also why seeing a little hair doesn’t mean the wax “stopped working.” It’s hair. It grows!

The goal of a consistent waxing schedule isn’t to wait until every possible hair has completely grown back and then start over from square one each time. You’re trying to build a maintenance rhythm.

Gold Rush clients who become regulars often understand this pretty quickly. The repeat Brazilian client tends to book her next two appointments because she already knows she wants to stay consistent. Some of those clients naturally add services such as underarms, inner thighs, or a full butt wax based on what they personally want maintained.

It becomes less of an event. It’s just the appointment.

Why Clients Who Are Busy Tend to Love the Combination

Busy woman working from home

There is a certain kind of client who does not need another errand.

She has work. Kids. Travel. Dinner plans. Pilates. Grocery pickup. A haircut she’s already rescheduled twice. Possibly an unread text thread with 93 messages in it.

She does not want waxing to become a part-time job.

That’s where combining your Brazilian wax with underarms starts making sense beyond the actual hair removal.

  • You’re already coming to the studio.

  • You’re already prepared for your wax.

  • You’re already thinking about aftercare.

  • You’ve already found parking (And parking matters more than people who don’t live in Denver like to admit).

Gold Rush Esthetics has a large private parking lot in Wash Park, which is one of those details that sounds small until you’ve circled a neighborhood looking for street parking before an appointment. Clients come from Wash Park as well as Cherry Creek, Hilltop, Belcaro, Country Club, Observatory Park, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, LoHi, Sloan’s Lake, and other parts of the Denver area.

Convenience is part of the experience.

So this is all about time.

Brazilian waxing is my specialty, and my returning Brazilian appointments are known for being quick while still being thorough and protective of the skin. My business was built around giving women a Brazilian wax in under 15 minutes when appropriate, making the process as comfortable as possible without turning speed into rushing.

Adding another commonly maintained area to the same visit can fit very naturally into that mindset.

You came in to get something handled, let’s handle it!

“Will Waxing My Underarms Hurt as Much as My Brazilian?”

Usually the question arrives with a facial expression that tells me the person is already preparing for bad news. Pain is personal, so I’m not going to promise that you won’t feel an underarm wax. You will, simply because we’re removing hair from the root.

But an underarm wax and Brazilian wax are different areas, with different skin and hair patterns, and your experience with one doesn’t perfectly predict your experience with the other.

One thing I am very straightforward about is waxing discomfort in general. Your first wax may not be your favorite 15 minutes of the month. I’m not going to tell you it feels like a relaxing massage because you’ll figure out very quickly that I lied.

What I see after years of doing this, though, is that consistency makes a meaningful difference for many clients.

The first appointment can be tough, but clients who continue waxing consistently and follow the recommended aftercare often find that the process gets significantly easier.

And sometimes adding underarms actually feels less intimidating because you’re already mentally prepared to wax that day.

You don’t have to psych yourself up twice.

The Razor Is Where People Accidentally Complicate the Plan

Here’s the situation I’d rather help you avoid:

  1. You’re coming in for Brazilian Wax appointments.

  2. You add your underarms… Everything is going well.

  3. Then three days before your next appointment, you notice some underarm hair.

  4. Out comes the razor.

  5. Now we have one area on one growth timeline and a freshly shaved section on another.

Is that a catastrophe? No. I’m not calling the waxing police on you. But it can make your maintenance less consistent.

Wax needs enough hair to grab. When you shave between appointments, you remove the visible hair while leaving the root behind. The shaved hairs now need time to become long enough to wax again.

This is one reason someone can come in and say, “Why are some hairs too short? I swear I grew everything out.”

They may have grown most of it out. That one section they shaved more recently is simply on a different timeline.

With Brazilian and underarm waxing together, the simplest routine is usually to leave the razor out of both areas and allow your waxer to see what your natural regrowth actually looks like.

Then we have useful information.

Your Underarms and Brazilian Area Still Need Their Own Skin Respect

Combining appointments doesn’t mean treating the skin in both areas exactly the same.

The Brazilian area is not your armpit, and your armpit is not your leg.

And none of those areas necessarily needs whatever random body lotion has been sitting beside your shower since Christmas.

Post-wax care matters because waxing removes hair from the root and the skin has just been through a hair-removal service. Gold Rush’s approach is strongly centered on skin integrity, high-quality wax, sanitation, and proper aftercare rather than treating the service like the job ends the second the hair is gone.

This is also where clients sometimes misunderstand product recommendations.

Aftercare isn’t there just so your waxer can put something on the retail shelf.

I’ve seen what happens when people do nothing, use products that aren’t appropriate for the area, exfoliate aggressively because they think harder must mean better, or start mixing homemade scrubs and oils without really knowing how their skin is going to respond.

Denver adds another variable: dry Colorado air.

Your face feels it. Your hands feel it. Your legs feel it. Waxed skin can feel it too.

The Gold Rush approach is to give clients clear aftercare guidance and products appropriate for post-wax maintenance rather than leaving them to guess. The goal is to support the skin between visits so your next appointment isn’t starting with weeks of neglected maintenance.

Follow the guidance you’re given for each area rather than deciding that one product or one scrubbing routine should cover every square inch of your body.

Your skin will appreciate the nuance.

What About Deodorant After an Underarm Wax?

Woman holding a container of skincare product

This is exactly the kind of practical question people remember once they’re standing in the waxing room.

Your underarm skin may feel more sensitive immediately after waxing. Products that normally don’t bother you may feel different on freshly waxed skin, especially products with fragrance or active ingredients.

Pay attention to how your skin responds and follow the aftercare instructions you’re given at your appointment.

The same principle applies to workouts, friction, heat, and other activities immediately after waxing. Freshly waxed areas deserve a little breathing room.

You don’t need to panic about your skin or treat yourself like you’ve undergone a medical procedure. Just don’t go directly from having two areas waxed to throwing everything you own at them.

Simple is usually better immediately afterward.

And when something feels unusually painful, appears severe, or keeps getting worse instead of settling, that’s the point to contact an appropriate qualified professional rather than trying increasingly creative internet remedies.

You Also Don’t Need to Be a “Perfect” Waxing Client

There’s another part of combination appointments that matters to me.

You don’t need to arrive apologizing!

  • Not for the amount of hair.

  • Not because your hair is thick.

  • Not because it has been six months.

  • Not because you shaved your underarms last week and now realize the timing wasn’t ideal.

  • Not because you’re nervous.

A lot of Gold Rush clients come in after having an uncomfortable experience somewhere else. Maybe the wax took forever. Maybe it felt too hot. Maybe hair was left behind. Maybe their skin was overworked. Sometimes they simply hated seeing a different waxer every visit and having to start the comfort process over again with another stranger.

That isn’t the experience we want to create.

Gold Rush is not a revolving door of waxers. The business is built around a personal relationship, sanitation, quality products, efficient technique, and the question I use as a basic standard for the entire experience: How would I want this done?

After 13 years in the industry, thousands of Brazilian waxes, continued education, advanced training, and experience waxing clients through many different stages of life, very little about normal body hair is going to shock me.

You’re here to get waxed. Having hair is sort of a prerequisite.

So, Should You Add Underarms to Your Brazilian Wax?

For the client who wants to stop shaving both areas, it’s a very practical combination.

You don’t need a complicated package or a perfectly synchronized hair-growth chart taped to your bathroom mirror.

Start with what makes sense for your routine.

Your Brazilian can serve as the appointment you plan around. Add your underarms. Stay off the razor between visits as much as possible. Pay attention to how both areas grow. Follow the aftercare recommendations. Then we can adjust based on your actual hair and skin rather than what a generic waxing schedule says you’re “supposed” to do.

Some people will find the two areas settle easily into the same appointment rhythm. Others may need a little flexibility. Both are normal.

And for the Gold Rush client who already books ahead, values her time, takes care of her skin, and would rather knock out two maintenance areas in one visit?

This combination tends to make a whole lot of sense.

One appointment, two razors that can finally retire.

Add underarms when you reserve your Brazilian, and ask Stacey whether the two areas can follow the same practical routine for your hair growth, skin, and schedule.
