Inner-Thigh Wax or Full-Butt Wax? How to Choose the Right Add-On to Your Brazilian

There’s a very specific moment that happens when someone looks at a waxing menu and thinks, “Wait. I thought the Brazilian covered that.”

Fair question.

A Brazilian covers quite a bit, but it doesn’t mean every piece of hair anywhere near your bikini area, upper thighs, or butt automatically falls into that service. At Gold Rush Esthetics, a Brazilian wax includes as much hair removal as you want, or don’t want, from the front, labia, and back area. Hair or no hair is completely your preference. The service is defined by the areas included, not by whether you leave the appointment totally bare.

Where things get confusing is around the edges.

Maybe the Brazilian looks great, but you have hair extending farther onto your upper inner thighs. Maybe the hair on your butt cheeks bothers you more than you expected once everything else is smooth. Or maybe you’re looking at the booking menu and wondering whether you need an inner-thigh wax, a full-butt wax, both, or neither.

You don’t need to become an expert in waxing terminology before you book. You just need to think about which actual areas you want smooth.

That distinction can save you from booking the wrong service, not reserving enough time, or assuming a Brazilian includes more body waxing than it actually does.

First, What Does a Brazilian Wax Actually Include?

Let’s establish the boundaries before talking about add-ons.

At Gold Rush Esthetics, a Brazilian wax is hair removal from the front, labia, and back area for vulva anatomy. You can remove everything within those areas or leave hair where you want it.

That means you might want:

  • Everything removed

  • A strip or another amount left in front

  • More hair left than someone else prefers

  • As much removed as possible within the Brazilian area

There isn’t a correct amount.

This is one of the things I wish more people understood before their appointment. “Brazilian” tells me where I’m waxing, not what personal grooming preference you’re supposed to have.

Gold Rush Esthetics takes the same approach with bikini waxing. A bikini wax includes as much hair as you want removed from outside the labia and includes the back area. The difference between Brazilian and bikini services comes down to the areas being treated, rather than some rule that says one particular amount of hair must stay or go.

That distinction has already caused enough confusion on waxing menus everywhere. We don’t need to make it harder.

The same logic applies to add-ons.

An inner-thigh wax and a full-butt wax aren’t automatically part of the Brazilian just because they’re nearby.

Where the Inner-Thigh Wax Starts

At Gold Rush Esthetics, an inner-thigh wax removes hair from outside your bikini line to the lower part of the upper thigh.

This is the add-on to consider when your concern is essentially, “My Brazilian is smooth, but the hair keeps going out onto my thighs.”

Some people naturally have very little hair there. Others have darker, thicker, or more noticeable growth that extends farther beyond what they consider their bikini line.

Neither is unusual.

Bodies did not get the memo that salon service menus need neat boundaries.

That’s why looking at the actual area matters more than trying to decide whether you have a “normal” amount of hair. There’s no prize for fitting perfectly inside the imaginary lines of a Brazilian wax.

A typical inner-thigh client may be someone who wears swimsuits with a higher-cut leg and notices hair extending beyond the bikini area. Another may simply prefer the way the transition looks and feels when the upper inner thighs are smooth along with the Brazilian.

And someone else may look at the exact same area and think, “That doesn’t bother me at all.”

Great. Then you probably don’t need to add it.

When a Full-Butt Wax Makes More Sense

A full-butt wax at Gold Rush Esthetics includes between the cheeks and both butt cheeks.

This is where another common booking mix-up happens.

Clients sometimes see “back area” included in a Brazilian and assume that means the entire butt is included too. It doesn’t.

The Brazilian addresses the areas included in that Brazilian service. The full-butt service expands the waxing area onto both cheeks as well.

So the question becomes very simple:

Does the hair you want removed continue onto your butt cheeks?

That’s when you should be looking at the full-butt option. Maybe you have fine hair there and couldn’t care less… Leave it! Maybe the hair is darker or more noticeable than you like, especially once your Brazilian area is smooth... Add the full butt.

Maybe it only bothers you during swimsuit season, before a trip, or with certain clothing. You don’t have to turn an occasional preference into a lifelong commitment either.

Waxing does not need this much emotional paperwork.

Inner Thigh or Full Butt? Look at Location, Not the Service Name

The easiest way to choose between these two Brazilian wax add-ons is to stop thinking about names for a second.

Think in zones.

Hair extending beyond the bikini line and down onto the upper inner thigh? That points toward an inner-thigh wax.

Hair on the butt cheeks that you want removed? That points toward a full-butt wax.

Both areas bother you? You may want both.

Neither area bothers you? Book the Brazilian and call it a day.

This is much more useful than booking every service around a Brazilian because you’re worried you’re “supposed” to, which you’re not.

After thirteen years of waxing and thousands of Brazilians, one thing becomes very obvious: people’s hair-growth patterns vary enormously. One client can have very little hair outside the central Brazilian area while another has substantial growth extending onto the inner thighs or cheeks.

That difference doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It just changes which service combination makes sense for that person.

The Mistake I’d Rather You Avoid: Booking Based on Embarrassment

Sometimes a client starts describing an area with apologies like:

  • “There’s kind of a lot there.”

  • “My hair grows really far out.”

  • “I know this is probably weird.”

Hair grows where it grows, please don’t be embarrassed.

Gold Rush Esthetics’ philosophy is pretty straightforward: hair or no hair, your preference, no judgment. The job is to expertly remove some or all of it based on what you want.

I’m much more concerned with knowing which area you want waxed than evaluating whether you have the amount of hair you think you’re supposed to have.

Clients who have had uncomfortable waxing experiences elsewhere can be especially hesitant about this. Some have been made to feel awkward about having thick hair or a lot of hair. Others have dealt with waxers who weren’t thorough, left significant hair behind, or made the appointment itself uncomfortable.

That’s not the experience you should be aiming for.

Tell me what you want smooth. We can work from there.

A Brazilian Wax Plus Inner Thigh Is Usually About the Transition

There’s a visual and practical reason someone might pair a Brazilian with an inner-thigh wax.

The Brazilian area can be completely smooth while visible growth remains immediately outside the bikini line. For a client with denser growth there, that can make the boundary between waxed and unwaxed skin more noticeable.

That’s not a problem with the Brazilian.

It’s simply a different waxing zone.

Think about someone preparing for a vacation. She’s wearing a swimsuit with a leg opening that sits farther inward or higher than her everyday underwear. The Brazilian covers exactly what it is supposed to cover, but she can still see hair extending onto the inner thigh.

Her issue isn’t that she booked the wrong Brazilian, but that she wants another area waxed too. That’s what the add-on solves.

The same situation may not matter at all to someone who has lighter growth there, wears different swimwear, or simply has no interest in removing that hair.

This is why I’m not interested in telling every Brazilian client that she “needs” an inner-thigh wax. She doesn’t. The correct add-on depends on her hair-growth pattern and preference.

A Brazilian Plus Full Butt Is a Different Goal

A Brazilian combined with a full-butt wax is addressing another area entirely.

This client isn’t concerned about hair extending toward the thighs. She wants the butt cheeks smooth as well.

Sometimes that preference becomes more noticeable after someone starts waxing consistently. Once one area is smooth, she realizes there’s another nearby area she’d rather not shave anymore.

That’s a perfectly reasonable reason to add body waxing.

It also doesn’t mean that everyone who books a Brazilian should wax her butt cheeks. Plenty of clients don’t.

The goal at Gold Rush isn’t to turn one appointment into a tour of the entire service menu. It’s to make sure the service you booked actually corresponds with the hair you want removed.

That matters for another very practical reason: time.

Gold Rush Esthetics specializes in efficient, thorough Brazilian waxing, with Brazilian services done in under 15 minutes while protecting the skin and making the experience as comfortable as possible. That efficiency depends on knowing what services are actually being performed.

Adding another body area changes the appointment.

Booking it ahead of time helps reserve sufficient time for the combination you actually want instead of arriving for one service and discovering that the hair you expected to have removed belongs to another service zone.

“Can’t We Just Grab Those Extra Hairs While I’m Here?”

There’s a difference between being thorough within a service and quietly turning one booked service into another.

A thorough Brazilian should be thorough within the Brazilian area. It doesn’t mean progressively following every neighboring hair until we reach your knee.

That sounds ridiculous when you put it that way, but the misunderstanding makes sense. Most clients are not studying waxing service boundaries in their free time.

You see connected skin. A professional sees individual service areas that require their own time and technique.

That’s why it helps to describe what you actually want when booking.

Instead of trying to diagnose yourself with salon terminology, think: “I want the hair outside my bikini line and onto my thighs gone” or “I also want the hair on my butt cheeks removed.”

That gives you a much clearer answer.

Don’t Confuse a Full-Butt Wax With the Back Portion of a Brazilian

This deserves its own section because the names make it easy to misunderstand.

A Brazilian at Gold Rush includes the back area.

A full-butt wax includes between the cheeks and both cheeks.

So seeing “back” listed as part of a Brazilian does not mean you’ve automatically booked complete hair removal across your entire butt.

This is probably the most useful distinction to know before choosing an add-on.

Someone who wants her Brazilian areas waxed but doesn’t care about hair on her cheeks does not need to add a full-butt wax simply because she saw the word “back.”

Someone who specifically wants both butt cheeks waxed should select the full-butt service so that area is included.

Service menus become much less mysterious once you think about them anatomically rather than linguistically.

What About a Full-Butt Wax Instead of an Inner-Thigh Wax?

They aren’t interchangeable.

Occasionally clients look at add-ons as though they’re different levels of the same service. They aren’t.

An inner-thigh wax does not automatically give you additional butt coverage.

A full-butt wax does not automatically extend your Brazilian down onto your upper inner thighs.

They answer two separate questions:

Where does your hair grow, and where do you want it removed?

That’s it.

For someone with growth in both areas who wants everything smooth, both services may make sense alongside the Brazilian.

For someone with hair in both areas who only cares about one, choose one.

You’re allowed to have preferences that make absolutely no sense to anyone besides you. It’s your body!

Consistent Waxers May Notice Their Add-On Preferences Change

Not every client knows exactly what she wants during her first Brazilian.

That’s normal too.

Gold Rush sees several types of waxing clients. Some book a Brazilian before a vacation and come back when the next trip appears on the calendar. Others start with their first Brazilian and immediately want to know how to build a consistent schedule and aftercare routine. Repeat clients often book their next appointments ahead and sometimes add areas such as underarms, inner thighs, or a full-butt wax.

You may start with only the Brazilian and decide later that you’d rather include your inner thighs.

Or you may try an add-on once for vacation and decide it isn’t something you care about maintaining.

There’s no waxing contract hiding under the table.

For clients who do become consistent waxers, the bigger benefit is learning what combination fits their routine so booking becomes easy. Instead of standing in the bathroom with a razor taking care of the areas that weren’t waxed, you can decide whether it makes sense to incorporate those areas into your regular appointment.

For a busy professional, mom, frequent traveler, or anyone who simply doesn’t want another grooming chore, that convenience can be the deciding factor.

What an Experienced Waxer Notices That You Probably Don’t

Clients tend to look at the final result, but waxers look at patterns.

We notice where hair density changes, how far growth extends beyond the bikini area, which sections a client has been shaving between appointments, and whether her requested result actually matches the services she booked.

That doesn’t mean I’m deciding what you should wax. It just means experience makes it easier to translate, “I want all of this gone,” into the appropriate service combination.

Gold Rush Esthetics is built around quick, thorough waxing, skin integrity, high-quality wax and aftercare, sanitation, and a personal experience rather than sending clients through a revolving door of different waxers. The studio is in Denver’s Wash Park area with a large private parking lot, because convenience should apply to the entire appointment, not only the few minutes you’re on the waxing table.

A good appointment should leave you understanding what you booked, what was waxed, and what you would select next time if you want additional areas included.

No guessing required.

Your Best Brazilian Add-On Is the One That Matches the Area You Actually Want Smooth

You don’t need a bigger waxing package just because it sounds more complete, you simply need the correct one.

Choose an inner-thigh wax when the hair you want removed extends outside the bikini line and farther down the upper inner thigh.

Choose a full-butt wax when you want hair removed from the butt cheeks in addition to the areas addressed by your Brazilian.

Choose both when both areas matter to you.

Choose neither when your Brazilian already gives you exactly the result you want.

There’s no gold star for removing more hair, and there’s definitely no requirement that a Brazilian has to look exactly the same from one person to the next.

The best booking rule is probably the simplest one: book based on the exact areas you want smooth, not the service name you think you’re supposed to choose.

Once you understand the boundaries, the decision gets a whole lot easier.
